Strengthening TVET through Strategic Partnerships: A Courtesy Call from AHK Ghana
On Thursday, 17th April, 2025, the Commission for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (CTVET) received Dr. Michael Blank, Head of the Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Ghana (AHK Ghana), on a courtesy visit at our office. The meeting reaffirmed the enduring collaboration between CTVET and AHK Ghana in strengthening technical and vocational education and training across the country.
Discussions during the engagement focused on deepening efforts to align TVET delivery in Ghana with internationally recognised industry standards, while also ensuring the sector remains inclusive and responsive to the needs of learners and employers. Both parties expressed mutual enthusiasm for upcoming initiatives, especially the Ghana TVET Excellence Awards—a flagship event to celebrate innovation and quality in the TVET landscape.
As part of the visit, a draft Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was presented by AHK Ghana to formalise and guide the cooperation between our institutions. Once finalised, the MoU will form part of a broader application to the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) for support towards the pilot edition of the Awards. We remain optimistic about the path ahead and reaffirm our commitment to partnerships that elevate the impact of TVET in Ghana.
