Mr. Abdul-Rahaman Zakaria, ChPA Deputy Director-General (Corporate)
Mr. Zakaria is joining the Commission for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (CTVET) as Deputy Director-General to support the Director-General in overseeing and managing the commission’s wide-ranging functions. In this capacity, he will help ensure that policies are implemented effectively, that teams across all departments remain aligned with CTVET’s strategic goals, and that partnerships with government, industry and academia are both strong and productive.
Drawing on over eighteen years of leadership and administrative experience at Dr. Hilla Limann Technical University, Mr. Zakaria brings a proven track record of turning strategic vision into day-to-day results. As Deputy Registrar, he spearheaded initiatives to streamline student services and modernise academic processes. As Director of Public Affairs, he led communications, community outreach and reputation management, always working hand-in-hand with the leadership.
Throughout his career at DHLTU, he served on key governance bodies, including the Governing Council, the Academic Board (as Convocation Representative), the Staff Development & Scholarships Committee, and the University’s Editorial Board. In every role, he balanced big-picture planning with hands-on problem-solving, forging consensus and delivering tangible improvements.
Mr. Zakaria holds a Master’s in Human Resource Management and an Executive MBA from KNUST, a Bachelor of Management Studies from the University of Cape Coast, and an HND in Secretaryship & Management Studies from Tamale Technical University. A Chartered Professional Administrator, he is an active member of both the Chartered Institute of Administrators & Management Consultants–Ghana and the Institute of Public Relations–Ghana.
Poised to reinforce the Director-General’s leadership, Mr. Zakaria will play a pivotal role in strengthening CTVET’s operational excellence and helping build a responsive, future-ready TVET system for Ghana.
